EcoChem takes pride in our reliable, diligent, efficient personnel. All employees are educated and licensed in the application and handling of herbicides. Presently EcoChem employs between twenty to thirty licensed Applicators in the aquatic,turf & right-of-way categories. Our Applicators are certified by the South Carolina Department of Pesticide Regulations, and receive continuing education annually to keep up with today’s complex regulatory environment. Over the years, EcoChem has recognizes its employees with numerous industry awards and recognition for outstanding service and leadership when it comes to protecting the environment and human health.

 

Our Capabilities

In addition to our knowledgeable and experienced staff, EcoChem is equipped with airboats, transport/spray trucks specifically designed for the specific application of herbicides. Our fleet also consist of  Pro-Drive powered boats for application of aquatic herbicides in areas with limited access (shallow water, low bridges, etc.) and for areas where less disruptive application is warranted. We also have boats available for use in small ponds and/or large lakes and multiple truck mounted systems for use in industrial settings and ditch herbiciding. Other available equipment includes a rail road spray truck, a variety of ATV’s and swamp buggies all equipped with state of the art calibrated spray equipment designed to provide the most effective and cost efficient management services for all types of aquatics and terrain.

Are you a licensed aquatic weed control applicator?

Answer: Yes, all of EcoChem's technicians are licensed through the State of South Carolina Department of Pesticide Regulation

 

Can I use the water that you just treated to irrigate my lawn?

Answer: In most cases yes, if EcoChem were to perform a treatment with a herbicide that has an irrigation restriction on the label there would be postings if required and the property owner or property manager would be notified prior to treatment.

 

What is a littoral shelf and why do we have to have them in our pond?

Answer: A littoral shelf is a shallow shelf in a water body that is planted with native aquatic vegetation normally located by an out flow structure. The purpose of a littoral shelf is to help filter out the nutrients and minerals in the water prior to it leaving the pond via the out flow structure.

 

What is the best way to control the algae in my pond?

Why is there so much algae in my storm water retention pond?

AnswerMost storm water retention ponds in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida have a very high nutrient and mineral levels due to run off from fertilized yards and neighborhood roads which contribute to algae bloom.

 

What are my options as far as service / maintenance goes?

Answer: Applied Aquatic Management offers many different aquatic weed control methods such as herbicide treatments, hand removal of vegetation, mechanical harvesting and biological control.

 

Does your spray hurt the fish or wildlife?

Answer: No it does not, every herbicide that we use is very much environmentally friendly and is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency, every herbicide application performed by Applied Aquatic Management is done in accordance to the EPA registered label and all regulatory agencies.
